Ms Brown was great! Not only assisted T with her Algebra 2, she also helped her with her confidence. Prior to her first online tutoring session T’s average in her class was low 60’s. She finished the quarter with a 91! They have been great and even helped with a tech issue my child had with her Chromebook.
Here’s what our team thinks about working here:
Andrea says:
"I love working for Parrish! It's the perfect part time job for teachers. Working with students one on one, and in small group, on a variety of needs is wonderful! The student motivation during tutoring sessions is refreshing after spending the day with sometimes less than motivated seniors!"
Burke says:
"PLZ is an unbelievable environment to not only work in but for students to be tutored in. I thoroughly enjoy coming to work and interacting with the other tutors and the Parrish's."
Kate says:"I have had a great experience working for Parrish Learning Zone. As educators themselves, Nina and Jay really "get" how to support their staff of instructors. They understand that our schedules are tricky sometimes but they always find a way to make it work for the instructors and for the students, so everyone gets what they need. I have tutored for one of the corporate companies in the past and working for PLZ was much more enjoyable! "

Additional Customer Reviews and Testimonials
-Cynthia E. says:
“I am very impressed with the effort PLZ took in finding a Chemistry tutor for my daughter which would work well with her. It was obvious that Mrs. Parrish listened to my concerns and issues before choosing the tutor. The match was a real success and done in a manner respecting the time urgency factor as well. The tutor, Jennifer, is knowledgeable and teaches in a way that is much more conducive to understanding than does my daughter’s present school teacher. My daughter is very happy with the match.”

Thank you for the progress report. My son was shocked when he read his original essay now that he knows what he is looking for. His experience with you has been exceptional and I see great improvement in his writing.

“I like this better than anything! I like it better than math, language arts, science, even orchestra! I was so excited to pass advanced on my math SOL”

-Deborah P. says:
“We have been very happy with the progress my daughter has made with PLZ. Her math class moved quickly this year and she was struggling with the work as well as feeling discouraged and frustrated. Nina is a wonderful “bridge” between the classroom teacher and home. She is always patient and takes the time to review tests and schoolwork and help her students understand where they made mistakes and how to correct them. There have even been times Nina was able to teach her an easier method to solve a math problem and get the same answer. Nina also communicates with her teacher and helps her stay up on current classwork as well as prepares her for what the class will be learning next. Nina makes learning fun for her students and is always full of encouragement. Nina is an excellent teacher and we are very happy to work with her. My daughter’s math grade has gone from a low C up to a high B (88.6%) since she has been with PLZ. We feel that with Nina’s continued help we will make an A by the end of the year!”

-A 6th grade parent says:
“Nina works very well with our son and he is improving in both his organization and math skills. Nina understands the 6th grade Math curriculum very well. She is very effective. She is calm, patient, and positive which is exactly what he needs. She communicates with his teachers. That is a key piece that I doubt you would find with a large tutoring service. The weekly progress reports are super helpful. We are very happy.”
