Getting Ready For Upper Elementary Math Part II

Multiple Session Class

Three one hour sessions

Audience:

Upper Elementary students

In this two-part workshop, students will review concepts that are important to success in 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade math. They will be introduced to math topics that will help them to feel prepared for the coming school year and receive practice to complete so that they can keep learning even once the course is complete. They will be able to determine what they still need to work on in order to get ready for math at their grade level. Live, interactive sessions will be taught in small groups by a licensed elementary teacher. In Session II, students will focus on reviewing perimeter, area, and fractions.

Monday 8/3, Wednesday 8/5, and Thursday 8/6 from 4:30-5:30 online

Angela Adams M.Ed.

Elementary, Middle, & High School Tutor

Ms. Adams was born and raised in New Jersey. She moved to Virginia to attend Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia in 2011. She became a Virginia licensed teacher in 2014 with a dual certification in Elementary Education PreK-6, as well as, Special Education General Curriculum K-12. Following graduation, Ms. Adams accepted a position as a special education teacher at a therapeutic private day school in Fredericksburg, Virginia. She taught reading, math, science, and social studies for four years in a variety of elementary and middle school grade levels. While in the classroom, Ms. Adams completed her Master’s degree at Liberty University with a concentration in educational leadership. Following earning her master’s in 2018, Ms. Adams transitioned out of the classroom and into the role of Assistant Principal.

Ms. Adams desires to be a resource for students academically, behaviorally, and socially. She volunteers weekly in the student and special needs ministry at her church. Ms. Adams works hard to build relationships with her students. Her focus is to shine a light on their potential so that they can begin to see it in themselves.

In her spare time, Ms. Adams enjoys spending time with family, friends, and her golden retriever. She is an avid Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles fan. Ms. Adams loves to play sports, travel, and complete DIY projects around her house.
