Pots and Palettes at 1104 Sophia Street is a great place to visit on a rainy or hot day with your elementary or middle school child. Kids can select their own pottery, at a variety of price points, starting at $6. During the summer, kids get half off of the studio fee and on Thursdays an adult can paint with their kid for no extra studio charge. At Pots and Palettes kids get to choose colors to paint the pottery that they select. Then they can learn about how the pottery is fired. Several days later, their finished product is ready to pick up. A visit to Pots and Palettes is a great fun way to introduce an art history lesson. Pottery has been around for millions of years.
